TELANGANA BILL INTRODUCED
                It was an interesting sight to see a much relieved Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde declaring “….Telangana bill has been introduced in the Parliament”. Imagine all this in the back drop of unprecedented transaction of parliamentary business like spraying of pepper, wielding of pointed, knife like thing and breaking up the speaker’s mike beside CQB (Close Quarter Battle) amongst the warring factions owning alliance to the Republics of Seemandhra and Telangana.
                We also witnessed the Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamalnath with his stoic wooden expressions saying he will recommend strict action against the erring MPs. Although it is a moot point, as to why no preparation was done to deal with such a situation that was highly explosive and not a secret at all. With immediate suspension of seventeen MPs it is now clear that they were led to act in a manner that will justify their expulsion and thus permitting some semblance of discussion on the Telangana bill before it is passed.
                It must have been one of the rare sights to see the televised images of Ms Meera Kumar, the Honorable Speaker of the House without her characteristic smile when she pronounced today’s events as a blot on parliamentary democracy. It is a different matter that she forgot to pronounce the adjournment of the house before leaving the house when the pandemonium broke in the house.
                Now that the unprecedented has happened, I recommend some measures to ensure our respected MPs do not raise the bar higher;
1.       Have the MPs frisked and pass through the metal detector before entering the Parliament.
2.       Have the seating arrangement in parliament replaced with chairs having clamps and seatbelts to ensure MPs don’t leave their place without the speaker releasing the lock herself.
3.       Have the chairs connected with a transformer that can release necessary electric current as may be necessary to tame down the excited members. (This suggestion may not find favour with the main stream political parties but I am hopeful AAP will jump to include it in their manifesto.
Watching further developments eagerly.
